Goal

I CAN jump into the water with my knees tucked.
I DO control my landing and body position mid-air.

Success criteria

Child performs a stable "bomb" jump (tuck position), lands safely and confidently. 

Environment/Space/Equipment

Pool edge (deep enough for safe landing). No equipment.

Group management

Individually, with the instructor checking take-off area. One at a time.

Time/Duration/Schedule

1-5 minutes. Used in playful or skill-focused part of session. Either the beginning or end part of the lesson

Pre-requisite

Confidence jumping into deeper water, ability to land safely.

Description

From a standing position, a child jumps with knees pulled into chest. Aim for a big splash with balance and fun.
Variation:
Try for distance, size of splash, or sync with music.
