Goal

I CAN swim crawl with others while timing my movements
I DO give a high-five at the top of the stroke.
I REACT by cooperate with my teammate
I FEEL I have enough control while swimming, that I can cheer my teammate with a high-five.

Success criteria

Children swim side-by-side and coordinate high-fives mid-stroke without losing rhythm or direction.

Environment/Space/Equipment

Pool lane (shallow or deep depending on level). No equipment needed.

Group management

Pairs or groups of three swimming side-by-side. Instructor monitors from poolside.
Instructor must consider their level. It´s easier with 2 and 2.

Time/duration/schedule

5–15 minutes. Used as a cooperative warm-up or challenge during main session.

Pre-requisite

Ability to swim crawl confidently and in a straight line.

Description

Children swim crawl in synchrony with 1–2 peers. When their arms are at the highest point over the water, they give a quick high-five before continuing the stroke.

Variation: Use timed sequences, increase speed, or add a competitive element.
