Goal

I know what aquatic sports I can do in the water

success criteria

The student learn about the existence of several aquatic sports

Environment/Space/Equipment

The space required for this activity will be two half lanes of a swimming pool, having no interference the pool being of deep water or not. There is also the possibility of performing this exercise in one half lane

Group management

This activity can be done individually or in small groups. Groups preferably of 2, with the maximum being of 3 students. Groups formed homogeneously and distributed in each half lane. The instructor is outside the pool.

Time/Duration/Schedule

This activity should preferably be done in the early part of the class.
5 minutes.

Pre-requisite

The activity can be done by any type of student and can be adapted to those who have difficulty in the water, using a float belt. Another variable to be applied by everyone, will be the distance used, which can be adapted to different levels.

Description

Distribute the students in teams of 2 or 3, each on each half lane.

Images are randomly distributed next to the central separator, leaving the instructor with a copy of each with him.

The instructor elaborates a sequence that is shown to each group and the teams must organize themselves and try to elaborate the sequence shown in the shortest possible time. Only one member of each team can go pick up one of the cards at a time, which are next to the central separator. After bringing the image to the beginning point, the sequence is started, continued or finished.

Initially we can start with a sequence of 3 figures, performed individually, progressing to a sequence of 6 figures, performed in groups of 2 or 3.
If any element feels difficulty in the water, it is possible to perform the activity with the float belt or change the distance between the beginning point and the loose figures.

The start in the individual moments is held out of the water, and the student can enter in the way he feels most comfortable. In group moments, the first entry of each element is made out of the water and after that, the rest of the elements will wait their turn next to the pool wall, leaning against the right side of the lane.
